The complete refurbishment of this purpose built Edwardian maisonette in Kennington, South East London, took approximately 5 months and was completed at the end of August 2012. During the refurbishment period we also added a roof dormer extension to the property to provide a second bedroom. Roof domes were incorporated in the design to provide additional natural light. A new staircase was built to the dormer extension, acoustic underlay added beneath a new timber floor and new radiators fitted as required. Included in the works was the replacement of six existing box sash windows with double glazed box sashes, and a double glazed sliding window and patio door set were also installed. Both the lighting and power circuits in the property were completely rewired and a new consumer unit installed. Heat & smoke detectors were also provided and rotary dimmer switches supplied as required. A new stone fireplace was also part of the design. A new hard wood front door & framework were purpose made to match the front door of the neighbouring property. We were delighted that this project was selected for inclusion in London’s Open House Weekend and was open for public viewing on 23 September 2012.
